GTAR Project: Participant, National Church Fabric Assessment Project

I was contacted by Lincolnshire consultancy Locus Consulting in 2012 and invited to join a team of 6 freelance specialists assessing the condition of over 14,000 Church of England church buildings.

The rapid assessments were based on architects' Quinquennial Inspection reports and considered specific aspects of the building structure using a uniform grading criteria. Locus Consulting and their clients, The Church of England (Cathedral & Buildings Division) and English Heritage, have expressed their satisfaction at the quality of the assessments and appreciated the efficiency and care taken by all members of the team.

A change from my usual work, but a very fascinating project which drew on my experience of reading, interpreting and assessing technical reports.
